Tutorial: How to add assignments in Recitation

Staying organized is hard, but with Recitation, it has never been so easy! In this tutorial we will be going over how to add assignments in Recitation. You can watch the video or follow along with the step-by-step tutorial!

Step #1 - Navigate to add assignment page

Start by clicking the plus icon in the center of the tab bar at the bottom of the screen. This will take you to the add assignment screen.

Step #2 - Customize name and class

Next you will enter the name of your assignment and then select the corresponding class. For example, if I have an exam in my algebra class, I would enter "Exam" as the task name and then select "Algebra" as the class. If you would like to customize even further, you can change the icon and color (perhaps if you wanted all your exams to be the color red, this is how you could do that).

Step #3 - Priority, Tag, and Date

Next you will have the option to assign a priority and tag to your assignment. Priority can help you differentiate between high, medium, and low priority assignments. The tag tells you what type of task it is. Both of these are optional features. Next, select the due date of the task.

Step #4 - Recurring Tasks

If you have a task that recurs every week, you can toggle the recurring option. This allows you to select the day(s) of the week that the task recurs on so that you do not have to add the same task every week. The end date is automatically set to the end date of the selected class, however you can change that here if needed.

Step #5 - Alerts

Finally, you have the option to select reminders for the task. If selected, you will receive a notification reminding you of the task.

Step #6 - Don’t Forget to Press Save!

Now you are all set, just press the save button in the top right corner of the screen!
